Army Staff Sergeant K. Masuda of Company F, 442nd Regimental Combat Team retrospectively received the Distinguish Service Cross on the 8th of December 1944. Mary Masuda obtained the award from General Joseph W. Stilwell. Kazuo's sister Mary presented the decoration to her mother Tamae.
